This recipe is ideal for those who have a gluten free diet! This blondes are delicious and are such a healthy treat!
I actually made this recipe about 2 years ago without the peanut butter and it worked just as nicely but once I added the butter they tasted much nicer!
As usual, I hope you like them, If you make them tag me on your social media channels! I love to see your healthy creations!
Pre-heat your oven at 180 degrees Celcius
Ingredients:
1 can of chickpeas ( I swear you don’t taste the chickpeas at all!)
2/3 cup of maple syrup
1/2 cup of peanut or almond butter (They would be delicious with cashews, If you have a nut allergy, try pumpkin seed butter of coconut butter)
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
100g dark chocolate chopped
Method:
Blend on your food processor or conventional blender all the ingredients, except the dark chocolate.
Once you get a smooth mixture add the chopped chocolate and give it a 2 second blend just to incorporate the chocolate pieces properly
Place the mixture into a baking tin lined with grease proof paper and bake for 30-40 minutes.
Make sure they are fully cooled before you slice them, other wise they might just break on you.
My boys absolutely loved them! they kept asking for more “cake” when in fact this treats are actually really healthy!
I have all of these ingredients in my cupboard…. Woo hoo!!!!!!

Hi Ursula 🙂
Is it ok to use agave as an alternative to the maple syrup?
I made your choc pecan balls and used half maple half agave, and they were so so good!
I’m eager to learn – Is there a reason that you use maple syrup in your recipes as opposed to other ingredients (eg. honey / agave etc.)? Is it nutritional or does it come down to flavor?
If you did a blog post or snapchat story on the differences it would be brilliant. Love your work, thank you!
