Made this bars today to have ready for my boys school lunches next week.
As you might know many schools don’t allow nuts as some kids have a nut allergy. So we have to step it up with the lunches ideas.
This recipe will be part of a lunches idea video I’m filming at the end of the week. So we all will have some other nut free ideas for the lunches!
This recipe makes 21 bars so perfect for the whole month!
Ingredients:
100g desiccated coconut
100g sesame seeds
1 cup of dates
Method:
Pre-heat the oven at 180 degrees Celcius
Place the coconut and seeds in a tray and roast for 10 minutes moving them around often.
Then jus blend with the dates!! If your blender isn’t very powerful soak the dates on boiling water for 5 minutes to soften them up!
Then just place them in a small 18x18cm square dish and set them in the fridge for a few minutes.
Then just slice them and wrap them in grease proof paper, put them in a plastic bag and freeze them. You can take out on the same morning or a night before.
