On the 7th day of Christmas 🎄 we visited Santa 🎅🏼 at the @merrionhotel what an incredible experience. We definitely won’t be able to top this one up next year! The girls did an amazing job organising such a magical event! And a pleasure to see @tignam and her beautiful family! Hope you all enjoying your Weekend! ♥️ #onthe7thdayofchristmas
Christmas 🎄 tree is up 🎅🏼🤶🏼 we are ready for you santa 🎅🏼 . #onthe6thdayofchristmas
On the 6th day of Christmas 🎄 we put on out Christmas 🎄 tree 🌲 today is St. Nicholas day and it has always been our tradition that this day we put the tree up and we take it down on the 6th of January on little Christmas 🎄 tag me on your xmas trees I’d love to see them! On the 5th day of Christmas 🎄 we made Christmas cookies! 🤶🏼 My little boy 👦🏻 is having his 6th birthday party on Sunday he invited 6 friends and they are decorating cookies and we are doing@some Christmas decorations too. Check my stories to see it all. 🎁 Anyhow here is the recipe for the cookies. They are gorgeous so tasty 👌🏼 225g butter 315 g plain flour 200g sugar 1 egg 1 and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 3/4 teaspoon baking powder 3/4 teaspoon salt (If you with you can add a pinch of cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg to make them very Christmasy 🎄) Method: Preheat oven at 150 degrees Celcius - cream sugar and butter with a mixer - in the meantime sift the flour, salt, and baking powder and set aside - add egg and vanilla to the butter mix - slowly add the flour and keep mixing until well combined - wrap the dough in clinfilm and set in the fridge for 2 hours I know thats very annoying but doing cookies through the years this step is necessary and with cookies is totally worthy! I promise Roll the dough thick enough nobody likes flat cookies 😜 -cut in desired shapes and bake for 10-12 minutes keep checking them you don’t wanna overcook them! Slightly brown. Even if they look raw more likely they aren’t anything brown and they will get too crispy! You want them to melt in your mouth!! For the icing just mix 3 tablespoons of icing sugar with one tablespoon of milk and mix until shiny and smooth. Add food colouring if desired. If mix isn’t thick enough add more icing sugar ♥️ #onthefithdayofchristmas
On the 4th day of Christmas 🎄 I have for you my tips on the gravy and the perfect fluffy roast potatoes 🥔 I know a lot of us use gravy granules a lot but since Ibsaw they contain palm oil and lots of other unnecessary ingredients I always try to make my own. The secret to a delicious gravy is to do it with the drippings of your turkey/ chicken. If you don’t complete 300ml with the drippings then add some boiling water. (For a bigger family or if you want gravy left over for the next day do a full pint). Then melt 1/4 cup of butter in a low heat and add 4 tablespoons of flour (you can also use cornflour) mix until flour is cooked and very brown. Add the pint of drippings/stock and mix/boil on a low heat until it gets thick. For the roast potatoes: Pre-heat oven at 200degrees Celcius 1. Peel 2. Slice is necessary so they are all roughly same size 3. Bring them to the boil and boil for 5 minutes 4. Drain the water and with a lid on shake the saucepan (this is what helps to make them fluffy) 5. Add a bit of olive oil on the bottom of a tray (any oil of your choice also works i like olive) 6. Place the potatoes on top drizzle a good bit of oil on top, sea salt, pepper, rosemary, dry parsley 7. Cook them for 30 minutes or until crispy turn them around halfway there 8. Enjoy ♥️
On the third of Christmas we made Brussel Sprouts! Ok if you reserch the health benefits of Brussels Sprouts you’d be eating them everyday! . They are extremely healthy! The first time I tried them i hated them so I think it depends a lot on how they are cooked. They can be very bitter if not cooked right. Boiling them for me is a big NO-NO. . The secret for me is slicing them in half. Sauté them in olive oil and a little butter with garlic. Add sea salt and pepper to season them to taste and finally when they look crispy enough sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top and OMG I could eat them every day without a doubt you have to try them! . The dip is a dijon little dip made with: 1/4 cup mayo 2 tablespoons of olive oil Juice of half a lemon Dry parsley . So so so good #onthethirddayofchristmas
